Using Clubs Data Grids

Finding what you need

In most of the main modules in Clubs, you will see data represented in a grid, similar to the one below.

provides you with a suite of charts, that we hope will assist you with getting a better understanding of your organisation, its leads, members, instructors, products and services, classes and sales.

A typical Clubs Data Grid

Clubs grids share many similarities with the way you may view a spreadsheet. Here are some of the key things you may find helpful.

Right-Clicking Columns

When you right click a column on a clubs grid, you will see this appear:

Column right-clicking

The first two options are to sort the data by ascending or descending value. Sorting a column can also be done simply by clicking on the column header. Each click toggles ascending or descending.

You will also see an option to 'Fix' a column to either the left or the right. This allows those columns to be fixed in the selected position as you scroll horizontally through the data in the grid. Simply click the 'Unfix' option to revert the column to normal scrolling.

** Action columns in a grid (e.g. the Delete action for each row) are set by default to 'Fix' mode for ease of use. However, you can also 'Unfix' them according to your preference.

Column Choosing

Some grids will have this icon to the left of the search box . This is the column chooser, and when clicked, a popup box will appear where you can drag column headers into the box so that they are not visible in your current view. Hidden fields can be returned to the grid by simply dragging them back into the grid at your chosen position.

Column Reordering

Columns can be reordered as you require by clicking and holding a column header, then dragging it to the required position. In the example below, the First Name column has been clicked and is being dragged to the right of the Last Name column.

Column Width

In Clubs, column widths are automatically adjusted based on the content. However, column widths can be adjusted based on your preference. Simply hover the mouse between two columns and drag to the required width

Using Row Filters

If you click 'Show Row Filter' when available, additional options become available when clicking the magnifying glass icon below a column heading. This provides you with a range of filtering options to select data for your selected criteria.

Column Filters

If you click 'Show Column Filter' when available, additional options become available when clicking the magnifying glass icon below a column heading. This provides you with a range of filtering options to select data for your selected criteria.

Column filters

In the above example, the user has selected column filters and clicked on the 'Type' row. The dialog box allows the user to then select all records based on either invoice or refund type documents.

On grids where dynamic search is available, you will see this displayed on the right hand side, above the grid. This allows a user to start typing any search term, and will dynamically display matching records in the grid. In the below example, the user wanted to search the grid for any records which contained the word 'Parklands'. You will see that as the user completed the letters 'park', two matching records were shown in the grid, with the search text highlighted in each record.

Expanding Row Details

If you see a grid with a small, right facing triangle in the first column in a grid, it indicates that more detail can be viewed about the record, without having to double click on the row itself.

In an example below, from the invoicing module, a user has clicked on the small triangle, and the row expands to show the line items for the selected invoice.
